Otometrics creates innovative solutions for all types of
ear-related diagnostics and is the largest global supplier of computerized audiology and hearing instrument
fitting equipment. Otometrics represents the following leading brands: MADSEN, AURICAL, HORTMANN and
ICS.Otometrics has its roots in the acquisition of Madsen in 1990 by hearing instrument manufacturer GN Danavox. Subsequently, Madsen became the foundation upon which a strong audiological instrumentation business would be built up within the GN Group. This development was reinforced by the acquisitions of Danplex in Denmark (1999), Hortmann in Germany (2000), ICS Medical in the USA (2000), and AuditData in Denmark (2001). As a result of both unprecedented growth and these acquisitions, GN Otometrics was established with effect from January 1, 2001.
Otometrics - a new corporate identity
Under this new corporate identity, the company will develop and transfer the knowledge and brand equity of the individual brands into Otometrics. MADSEN, for example, has changed the industry for audiometric diagnosis with the PC-based Conera, AURICAL provides state-of-the-art solutions for handling the entire fitting process, and both HORTMANN and ICS are leaders in the fields of PC-based otoneurologic and vestibular test systems. All of these strengths are now founded in our company.It is our feeling that the name Otometrics embodies and describes the business and markets in which we participate – “Oto” referring to the ear and “metrics” referring to measurement. The company will provide a firm foundation for future growth, and pursue the common vision of providing innovative, effective solutions for our customers.
