Direct audio streaming (MFi)

You can connect ReSound wireless hearing aids directly to your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. This enables you to stream phone calls, music, navigation or any other audio from your device directly to your hearing aids. When your hearing aids are paired with a compatible iOS device, direct audio streaming and basic hearing aid adjustments are available from the device settings.

Bluetooth® LE Audio Streaming & Auracast™

ReSound Nexia hearing aid users with compatible Android smartphones, can connect to the next generation Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast broadcast audio. Bluetooth LE Audio provides enhanced performance with hands-free* calls. Auracast broadcast audio will enable new audio experiences in private and public places, making the world more hearing friendly and accessible for everyone.

ReSound Nexia is the industry first hearing aid to connect to Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast. Users with compatible Android devices can gain immediate access to both hands-free calling and Auracast broadcast functionality.

Classic Bluetooth Audio Streaming (ASHA Audio Streaming)

Most ReSound hearing aids support direct streaming with compatible Android devices through the ReSound Smart 3D app. Download and install ReSound Smart 3D, open and tap "Yes, connect now." Once the hearing aids are paired with your smartphone, you can stream audio directly.

Note: Direct Android streaming does not provide two-way hands-free calls.

Compatible ReSound hearing aids:

Direct streaming to Android devices* is one of the advancements in hearing aid connectivity and therefore, it is available in select smartphone models with the required technology. Please check with your service carrier before purchasing a new smartphone to ensure that they have also enabled the service.

*Full streaming compatibility with Android devices requires minimum Android v10 and Bluetooth 5.0 and that functionality has been enabled by the phone manufacturer and service carrier. Accordingly, the compatibility information provided should be used for reference only. Although ReSound strives to achieve seamless device compatibilities, ReSound cannot guarantee full compatibility with all Android devices.

If direct Android streaming is not supported by your hearing aids or Android smartphone, you can use the ReSound PhoneClip+ to stream sound. The ReSound PhoneClip+ enables you to connect your ReSound hearing aids to any Bluetooth v.2.0 Android device.

Compatibility for ReSound Assist Live within ReSound Smart 3D app requires Android 8 or a later version.

If your ReSound hearing aid(s) or smartphone are not compatible with the ReSound Smart 3D or ReSound Smart app, you can use the Resound Phone Clip+ to both control your hearing aids and stream audio from your phone to them. 

ReSound Phone Clip+ compatibility: Android devices running OS 2.3.5 or later and Bluetooth v. 2.0. Functionality verified on selected devices from HTC, Huawei, LG, Motorola, Samsung and Sony.
*The Samsung Galaxy S23 models are not compatible with ReSound LiNX, ReSound ENZO, ReSound Up Smart and the ReSound Smart app.

Streaming to a bimodal hearing solution

Together with Cochlear we offer a smart bimodal solution that ensures you can control your settings and stream audio directly to both ears from compatible iOS and Android™ devices^. This means that with a Cochlear™ Nucleus® 8, Nucleus® 7 or Kanso® 2 Sound Processor and a compatible ReSound hearing aid* (ReSound Nexia**, ReSound OMNIA***, ReSound ONE***, ReSound LiNX Quattro, ReSound ENZO Q, ReSound LiNX 3D or ReSound ENZO 3D hearing aid), you can control your settings and stream audio directly to both ears from a compatible iOS or Android device^.

*Only BTE and RIE models support a smart bimodal solution
**Cochlear Sound Processor bimodal users are unable to use the ReSound Nexia hands-free calls, Bluetooth LE Audio or Auracast features.
