There are so many different beautiful sounds that I now treasure

Our latest story comes from Lottie from Luton who works outdoors at a short breaks holiday destination. Here Lottie talks about her experiences with ReSound LiNX² and the many sounds that she is now experiencing like never before.

Now that I have the Samsung Galaxy S6 the ReSound app is much easier to use and connects by itself. I feel much more confident to go places as I can adapt the aids to the situation. Going out for meals is much more manageable as I'm able to pick which sounds I’m directed to.

At work standing on the top of the zipwire platform the wind noise can be more than halved and things only need to be said once. And those screaming children get toned down automatically which always brings a smile to my face as no one else has that privilege. There are many beautiful sounds I experience now that I hadn't ever done before. Working in a forest I now hear several different calls from birds, woodpeckers, rabbits rustling, squirrels climbing and the leaves swaying in the wind. I hear water splashing at the boathouse and other small things such as the click when guests hit golf balls. There are so many different beautiful sounds that I now treasure.

Phone calls on the go are even easier than the standard headphone connection. I have found the reason the calls disconnect are either because the battery is low on the phone clip or if the phone is on power saving it turns off the app which makes calls disconnect. Now that this has been solved, I use it lots and it’s brilliant that it’s completely hands free.

I also discovered that you can play live music from radio stations but not through the phone itself. I downloaded the radio app, connect via the phone clip and music can be played direct. This is one of the main features I use, especially during exercise. There's no chance of getting tangled up in cables but I'm still fully aware if anyone does need to talk to me.

I had a realisation a couple of weeks ago whereby the batteries went dead whilst at work, me being me I didn't have the right size spares and it felt like I had been shut out completely. I felt like I had been placed in a water bubble with cotton wool in my ears. It made me realise just how much I rely on this technology, how they make me understand the differences in speech and numbers and how they are slowly helping me with directional sounds.
